SMALL TALES OF GREAT PRODUCT CULTES

MY EPIL:That's my My-Epil, which I patented.
This product was my pride and joy, but also meant an endless series of headaches and sleepless nights. American women have neither the habit nor the patience to apply and remove a product. One evening, I brought home a tube of My-Epil for myself and my husband observed how I pulled the wax off using a strip of cellophane. He immediately commented:
"Why don't you produce ready-made strips for use by American women?".
That was nearly the end of me! While the idea seemed simple enough, putting it into practice posed innumerable problems. It wasn't enough just to find the right formula; a special machine had to be designed to produce the strips.
Building the first machine, made in the U.S., took nearly two years. Several times, we had to stop to rethink, and redo key parts.
The My Epil strips were a great success but, two years later, I came up with an improvement, which required building a second machine. Last year, a third improvement using double strips meant, of course, that I had to design a third machine. » Ella Baché
