Proteins

These are used as building blocks and in repairing skin cells as they grow and as worn out or damage cells are replaced.
They form part of our skin, muscles, blood, enzymes, hormones and antibodies.
They are comprised of amino acids, 22 in number, of which 8 are vital for life but are not produced by the body. There are proteins that come from:
- animals origine's (meat, fish, eggs, cheese)
- or vegetables (oil-bearing fruits: walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pine nuts and pistachio nuts. Legumes: beans, peas, broad beans, lentils, soya, groundnuts, peanuts, etc. Rice and Spirulina (algae).
